Bluefire sat under the shade of the willow tree. Its branches dancing and its leaves rustling in the wind. The moonlight turned her pelt a dazzling shade of silver. She watched the creek run its course.

Ivygaze had been visiting the river more and more lately. He loved to watch the river flow slowly, with ease, wishing life was that easy. Sighing, he rose to his paws. Heading back towards camp he noticed Bluefire, a beautiful she-cat. "Hey Bluefire!" He called out already heading in her direction.

"Hey." she responded casually. Her green gaze still transfixed on the motion of the water. Her ears flicking every so often. The leader, Sunstar had been away for some time. "Hey Ivygaze. Where do you think Sunstar went. I haven't seen her in days." She now looked at the male himself.

Ivygaze looked down. "No, I Don't." The warrior had been just as worried. He sat down next to her. "No idea. Actually." He focused his eyes down to the water. He wondered if the she-cat next to him even found him attractive.

Her eyes reflected the moonlight. She bent her head and rubbed a paw over her ears. The night was cold, but not freezing. She looked at the male. "She's probably out hunting or talking with another clan's leader or something. Or doing whatever else clan leaders do. Then again, what do I know? I'm just a warrior!" She let out a light mrrw of laughter. She noticed his intense focus on the water. "What's wrong? Something bothering you?"

Ivygaze tensed up. A mere amount. Barely noticable, but definitely still there. If Bluefire was looking at him she definitely would've noticed. He tried not to think about that. His gaze didn't leave the water. Should I tell her my feelings. He didn't know. These thoughts we what was bothering him. Should he tell her?

Bluefire flicked his ear with her tail tip. "Seriously, what's bugging you? Maybe I can help." She didn't want to be too nosy. She didn't question him further after that. She closed her eyes and let the rushing of the stream and the rustle of the branches and leaves soothe her.

She didn't quite believe him, but she brushed it to the side. "Great. Cold, but great." She fluffed her fur up, giving her the appearance of a grey striped puffball. "Ever wonder what living with a twoleg is like? I mean, not that I'd want to, I'm just curious. I wonder how they stand being cooped up in a square nest all day and eating nothing but dry pellets and drinking stale water while the twolegs eat meat." She lashed her tail angerly at the thought.

'Hmm... I don't think about it much." He gazed at her reflection in the water. She's so beautiful. He still didn't have the courage to tell her how he felt. He turned and looked at her. "Do you you eve wonder about your future?" He said quickly. Ivygaze didn't know how she'd take the question, as it was kinda out there.

Bluefire looked at him. "Sometimes. I know I want a mate and kits someday and to live long enough to hear their warrior names. That's what almost every cat wants, I guess." She wrapped her tail around her paws.

Bluefire looked up to Silverpelt. The starlight reflecting in her wide green eyes. "They say that every star is a dead warrior watching over us. Do you think that is true? I know I do." she said as she looked back at him.

She continued to gaze upwards, her tail twitching every so often with thought. She stood up and walked over to the edge of the trickling stream sat and looked at her reflection, the green eyes staring back at her. She dipped a paw in the water then drew it out quickly, watching as the ripples distorted her image. A flash of silver caught her eye. With a quick hook of the claws, the fish was hers. A tiny thing it was. A minnow. she slid the skewered fish off her claws and began to eat thoughtfully.

Ivygaze focused on the other side of the bank. Grass slowly swayed in the breeze. Wind ruffled his fur and chilled his bones. Leafbare always bothered him. The cold always made him unsettled. He didn't know what it was, but it just bothered him. He turned his attention back to Bluefire who was eating a minnow. His mind was still lost on what to do about the situation with Bluefire. He sighed inwardly.

The little thing was only good for about two or three bites, but even the fish were affected by the chilly weather, moving slower. She looked at Ivygaze. "Have you ever thought about your future? What you want to happen and what you don't want to happen?" she asked, curious.

Ivygaze looked off to the other side of the river. He turned and faced the she-cat next to him. "Pretty much the same as any warrior." He turned back towards the river.
